Before he could approach her, bawang putih saw him and she run as fast as she could. The prince called out. âWait... lady.. waitâ The prince gave chase. Determined to find who she was. Ketidaksamaan sifat mereka ini membuat Bawang Merah merasa cemburu dan memperlakukan adiknya dengan sangat buruk. Setiap kali ayah mereka bekerja sebagai nelayan, Bawang Merah selalu memaksa Bawang Putih untuk melakukan segala pekerjaan rumah dan mengurus kebun sayur yang ada di halaman rumah. Namun, Bawang Putih tetap sabar dan menjalankan tugas-tugasnya dengan baik. Bahkan, tanpa diketahui Bawang Merah, dia juga rajin memberikan makanan lezat untuk kakaknya yang sedang merajuk. Suatu hari, Bawang Merah diundang ke rumah seorang janda yang sedang mencari seorang penjahit untuk membuat pakaian pengantin putrinya. Bawang Merah sangat senang dengan undangan itu dan mengikhlaskan pergi meninggalkan adiknya tanpa memperdulikan pekerjaan rumah yang masih harus dijalankan. Setelah Bawang Merah pergi, Bawang Putih terus mengurus kebun dan membersihkan rumah. Tiba-tiba, datanglah seorang tamu yang sedang lelah dan haus setelah melakukan perjalanan jauh. Tanpa ragu, Bawang Putih membawakan tamu itu minum dan makan dari persediaan yang ada di dapur. Tamu itu sangat terkesan dengan kebaikan hati Bawang Putih dan meminta dia untuk menyebutkan apa yang diinginkannya. Bawang Putih hanya berkata, âHanya satu yang saya inginkan, semoga kakak saya selamat dalam pekerjaannya dan segera kembali ke sini.â Tidak berapa lama setelah itu, tiba-tiba datanglah Bawang Merah yang menangis. Pakaian pengantin yang telah dibuatnya di dalam perjalanan rusak dan tidak bisa digunakan. Bawang Putih dengan santun berkata, âJangan khawatir kak, sudah kutebar teratai, baru beberapa hari kemarin kutebar benihnya, sekarang sudah ingin bercerai daun. Semalam saya menelusuri semua pemetik bunga. Barangkali ada yang mencuri pemetik bunga itu,â kata Bawang Putih sambil tersenyum. Bawang Putih kemudian pergi ke kebun dan dengan perasaan sedih memetik beberapa teratai yang masih kuncup dan membawa langsung ke rumah janda itu. Dalam waktu singkat, Bawang Putih berhasil membuat pakaian pengantin yang indah dan memperoleh uang yang cukup. Bawang Merah terkejut melihat pakaian pengantin yang indah dan sangat bersyukur atas kebaikan hati adiknya. Sejak saat itu, Bawang Merah belajar untuk tidak lagi bersikap kasar dan memperlakukan adiknya dengan lebih baik. Kisah ini mengajarkan kita untuk selalu bersikap baik pada orang lain meski dimasa sulit sekalipun. Terkadang, kebaikan hati seseorang bisa menghasilkan keajaiban yang tidak terduga. Janganlah kita mudah memperlakukan orang lain dengan buruk hanya karena perbedaan yang ada pada dirinya. Once upon a time in a village, lived a happy family. That family had a children named Bawang Putih. Her mother passed away due to her disease and now, Bawang Putih lived with her father only. In that village also, lived a widow with her daughter named Bawang Merah. They often visited Bawang Putih to deliver some food or just to talk. In short, Bawang Merahâs mother married with Bawang Putihâs father. Since that time, Bawang Putih no longer felt lonely because she getting a new mother and sister. However, over time its true nature appears. They often scolded Bawang Putih and gave her many hard house chores when their father was trading. But, Bawang Putih accepted her life steadfastly. One day, Bawang Putih washed Bawang Merah and her motherâs clothes in a river. Unfortunately, there was one clothes driting. So, Bawang Putih followed the river until she arrived at a grandmotherâs house. That grandmother found Bawang Putihâs drifting clothes and promised that she would give back the clothes if Bawang Putih helps her clean her house. Bawang Putih accepted it and clean her house diligently. In short, Bawang Putih received her drifting clothes. Bawang Putih also asked to choose a whether she wanted a large or small pumpkin. They accept it, but they donât do it wholeheartedly. Finally the grandmother gave back their drifting clothes and asked them to choose one of her pumpkins. Of course they chose the big ones. When they got home, they opened the pumpkin immediately. But itâs not gold, itâs some snakes that chased them. They then ran, left their house and Bawang Putihâs village.
